We do not exaggerate when we say that Steiner binoculars have always set a trend in revolutionary innovations and design. Starting from 1967, Steiner (together with Bayer) was the first company to optimise and use high tech material Makrolon in binocular housings. Mokrolon is a fibre-reinforced non-corroding polycarbonate which is practically indestructible, which makes Steiner binoculars so robust and durable. In 1973 Steiner has invented the first pair of sport optics filled with Nitrogen - indispensable for water- and fog-proof binoculars. Worth mentioning, among other inventions, are a rubber armouring, an integrated compass and protective coatings. Nowadays, Steiner binoculars are used by military, marine corps, in hunting, but also for outdoor sports, birding and for leisure!
