Vixen Foresta 8x32 CF Wide
Vixen Foresta 8x32 CF Wide is a porro viewer made by Vixen. Not only do Vixen manufacture roof binoculars, they also offer Porro models. Porro viewers deliver the same performance as similar roof models but are usually more affordable. This way, you have the same image quality at a lower price. However, the models are often larger and heavier; the choice is yours: you need to decide what features are most important to you. The Vixen Foresta 8x32 CF Wide is very versatile: you can use it in forested areas but also in flat areas when you need to view longer distances. The properties of the components in this model ensure that the viewer has a broad ('wide') field of vision. Overall a nice, well-priced product, also available in a 8x42 version with larger lenses for a brighter image.
Shockproof housing
The housing of the viewer is made using the so-called Die-Cast method. During this process, molten metal, in this case magnesium, is injected into a mold under very high pressure. After the coagulation process a solid and uniform body remains. The housing is filled with nitrogen gas to keep water out and prevent condensation. The exterior of the viewer features a rubber coating for optimum grip.
