Steiner Skyhawk Pro 8x42
Steiner Skyhawk Pro 8x42 Steiner is part of the Skyhawk Pro series, which is the successor of the Skyhawk series. This new series has certainly earned the Pro addition; with a number of significant improvements, the waterproof and fast-to-focus Skyhawk Pro series is a must for every birdwatcher. The SkyHawk Pro series is available in the following models:
Neutral colour display
Just like the Skyhawk series, the Skyhawk Pro-Series yields a very clear and specific colour-neutral image. Of course, a birdwatcher needs a true-to-nature image for an optimum viewing experience. On the ocular side the diameter of the glass has enlarged so that more light enters and the eye does not need to strain so much to see the full picture.
Fast-Close-Focus system: Focusing from 2m
Skyhawk can already focus from 2m and this makes the viewer ideal for spotting birds, butterflies and insects. Because the focus is very smooth, you can even use it wearing gloves: very handy in winter.
Increased field of view and improved light transmission
In their new series Steiner use a new prism, which enlarges the viewing angle/field width. In the SkyHawk Pro Steiner use ECO-glass, a lead-free glass of extra clear glass quality that is produced in an environmentally friendly manner. Also, the coating has been adjusted so that the light transmission is further enhanced for observations under difficult lighting conditions. The Skyhawk has endured many extensive field trials and has been designed specially for the demands of birding. The High-Contrast optics delivers excellent pictures, offer a very good value for money and are suitable for both beginners and advanced users. The edges of the image remain clear as well as the sharpness of the overall image. It is the perfect viewer for a sunset, an outdoor concert or in the mountains for the observation of nature.
Twist up eyecups: perfect for eyeglass wearers
The Twist-up eyecups on the Steiner Skyhawk are very suitable for eyeglass wearers. The ergonomic eyepieces have side 'flaps' which can be folded completely down. This stops stray light and wind. The flaps are made of high quality silicone which follows the contours of the face.
Extremely robust, use of Makrolon against water, corrosion, UV radiation, acids and oils
At Steiner binoculars meet high demands and due to their extreme robustness, they are almost indestructible. The use of Makrolon and a compact design has resulted in the creation of extremely strong but lightweight binoculars. The housing and a special lens coating ensure that the Steiner binoculars are all shock and dust resistant. The unique design ensures that even after decades Steiner binoculars still guarantee the best optical performance. The design has an anti-skid grip that performs perfectly under any weather condition. The binoculars are further resistant to salt water, corrosion, UV rays, acids and oils.
Click lock belt: easy to lock and release
The Skyhawk series is equipped with the "click lock" strap system which means that you click it on and off easily.
