Bushnell H2O 8x42 Roof
Bushnell H2O 8x42 Roof is part of the H2O series. Bushnell have created a viewer which is completely waterproof and which can be used in wet situations, for example during kayaking, skiing, boating or in snow. Even when the viewer falls overboard you can fish it out of the water unaffected. The coating consists of extra strong rubber and has a ribbed surface on the side for extra grip, useful in extremely wet conditions. The front lenses are multi-coated for optimum light transmission and are made of BaK4 glass (the better version of BK7 glass). The H2O series has a wide range of models; please browse around on our site to look for the model that suits you best. In short, H2O is a wonderful series of viewers for a spectacular view during all your adventures.

H2O-proof
Bushnell guarantee a perfectly sealed body thanks to the rubber coating, nitrogen gas filling and special O-rings. This means you have a completely waterproof and condensation free product in hand. With a 30 years warranty you can rest assured that, even under the roughest conditions, the bold Bushnell H2O 8x42 Roof will not let you down.

H2O Porro or Roof
Bushnell H2O 8x42 is available in two versions, Porro and Roof. Porro binoculars (see diagram below) are broader binoculars and based on the first design of binoculars. The Porro consists of two rectangular prisms which attached to each other enabling the light to be reflected three times, resulting in a correct image. The conventional binoculars use Porro Prisms.

A Roof viewer uses special prisms. This is technically more complicated than a Porro prism design, because it uses prisms which must have very accurately polished edges. The light is reflected four times. This design is more compact, but as the light path is longer and the prisms more complicated, the glass and the manufacturing must be of higher quality than that of the Porro Prism design. Hence Roof viewers generally have a higher price tag. Roof Prism binoculars have straight tubes as shown in the picture.
