ATN MARS6-CGTI
ATN MARS6-CGTI is part of the MARS series of night sights which is inspired by ATN's quest for technical perfection and named after the Roman god of war. The ATN MARS Series Night Vision rifle scopes represent the latest developments in the world of night vision. Like all other ATN series, this MARS series features the most advanced partly computer-designed lens systems made of the toughest quality glass. All this has ensured that with the MARS series ATN have made a rifle scope with an ultra-fast light transmission and a resolution that exceeds the current military standard. The tubes for the ATN MARS6-CGTI are hand-selected and constructed from a single piece of aluminium, NASA quality, and are inlaid with titanium components. The MARS series is the only of its kind with a setting for the colour of the crosshairs (red or amber). This gives the user the choice to change colour depending on personal preference or tactical situation.

Sublime rifle scope
Compared with the ATN MARS 6-2IA, this visor has a higher resolution and thus a clearer image. This version has a sixfold magnification and provides you with excellent observation, spotting and target performance so you will always be target-accurate. Automatic Brightness Control (ABC) adjusts the brightness of the image automatically so the viewer offers the best picture quality in all lighting conditions. ABC also protects light-sensitive parts in the tube against overexposure. If the visor is extremely exposed, then the viewer will be automatically turned off to prevent damage to the system. This ATN series offers a scala of versions in various price ranges. The viewers are powered by a battery which will last 55 hours (3V battery) or 40 hours (1.5 V). A built-in low-battery indicator will alert you when it is time to change the battery.

CGTI Technology
In a night vision the image intensification tube is the heart and is this also applies to the ATN Night Arrow 6-CGTI. The difference between a Gen 2 + and a Gen CTGI unit lies in the use of the type of micro-channel plate, or MCP. The MCP works as an electron amplifier and is placed directly behind the photocathode. A photocathode is a negatively charged electrode in a night vision and has a photosensitive coating. From the moment light strikes it, the absorbed energy generates an emission of electrons. This process is caused by a photoelectric effect. Simply put, the MCP gives the electrons an extra push so that the second generation night vision provide a brighter and sharper image. Generation CTGI is a refinement of the Gen 2 + and uses compact 18mm Multi-Alkali MCP Image Intensifier. This improvement is responsible for an exceptionally clear and bright picture.

Click Value or MOA
The vertical height adjustment ensures that the target in the viewer coincides with the spot where the bullet strikes. The flight of the bullet is affected by gravity in an arc orbit effect, the rifle scope follows a straight line. To compensate for this effect, the viewer has a turning wheel for adjusting the height. Usually, the viewer set to a certain distance, e.g. 25m. The adjustment wheel goes with clicks, so the adjustment per click is indicated as click value. The movement of the target point caused by one click of the dial is expressed in minutes (of degrees). A minute is 1/60th of a degree. This is called in English "Minute of Angle" or MOA. On a viewer it is often indicated what one click means for that specific model: 1/4 MOA, 1/8 MOA, so 1/240th or 1/480th of a degree.

Calculation Example
The distance to your goal is the radius of a vertical circle. For a distance of 10m, the circumference of a circle is 628m (2 x pi x r). One degree displacement is 628:360 = 1.74m, one minute is 1.74:60 = 0.029m or 2.9cm. Multiply this number by the amount of MOA, e.g. 1/4, and you have the vertical displacement of the target per click.
